Today’s Leaders Need Vulnerability, Not Bravado

I have written about the need to lean into vulnerability and face the real fears that impact us. Even today, I recognize how much of my own personal growth is connected to recognizing my vulnerability, rather than relying on the status quo. But even I recognize that being vulnerable isn’t an easy trait for others to adopt.

For many, their past leadership roles and managers have told them to hide these areas of growth and instead focus only on their strengths. I believe that there is a balance we need to strike between these two areas that define our work.

Leadership Demands Constant Learning and Agility

Authors Amy Edmonson and Tomas Chamorro-Premuzic share more insights into how this behavior impacts leaders around us. In order to be agile, we need to know how to address where we are failing and resist the urge to hide these truths from those we work with.
