My Lifetime Earnings on Kindle Still Shock Me

$282.38

That is the amount of money I have made on the 3 books I have written, from April 2019 until now.

This amount of money may seem insignificant, but when I was unemployed from full-time work for 3 years, the sale of one book felt significant. Or the pages that were read via Kindle that added up over time. Or the idea that people in countries other than the United States were able to connect with my writing.

I am typically confident to the point of being over-confident, so humility is not something I normally feel. But I am humbled by this dollar amount. Truly blessed and duly grateful.

The Power of Feeling Professional

As insignificant as the amount is compared to my now-take-home salary, I’ll always remember the times this amount of money made me feel…well like I was still a professional.

Perhaps that is why I still felt prepared for my first full-time job I got years after my last college closed — because I never left the work I was doing and…
