I Have Too Many Good Applicants for My Office!
I am preparing myself for all the tiny violins but I have to say it’s stressful to have too many good people applying for the job in my office!
But I recognize that the stress is all in my unfamiliarity with dealing with these blessings!

Taking My Own Advice
Following my own advice that I shared recently in Is Your Hiring Process Designed to Include or Exclude Candidates I am reaping the benefits of opening the network where the job was shared and encouraging (and recruiting) under-represented people to apply. I have also been more open about who qualifies for an interview, deciding to phone interview anyone who applied with the stated minimum qualifications and let them answer the questions about their qualifications rather than excluding people outright based on my impression of their qualifications.
