The Great Resignation has forced employers to reconsider the work environments for their staff. And for staff, it has created an opportunity to reevaluate how their work aligns with their values and the kind of worker they aspire to be.

Maybe you’re in a position to leave your job, and maybe now is the time to just move on to a place that better aligns with your self-perception and values.

But it’s tough to just quit a job (well…it wasn’t for me, but I’m told it’s tough for others!).

Before starting a new career in workforce development in 2021, I spent three years doing a job search. Trust me, I know that there are mitigating circumstances that keep people in a job because it pays the bills or to have some financial stability.

But those aren’t the only choices available to us. Perhaps you have an inkling that your current job isn’t a great fit — but what will be?
